Academic Partnerships
IBTS is committed to working with other higher educational and theological institutions as we seek to deliver high quality theological education at Masters and Doctoral level and in the general provision of postgraduate research opportunities. The focus of our collaboration is typically within the area of the European Baptist Federation (EBF). The EBF area covers Europe, Eurasia, the countries of the former Commonwealth of Independent States and the Middle East and eastern North Africa. However, as an organisation drawing our student community from throughout the world, we also have strategic partnerships with institutions beyond the boundaries of the EBF.
Partnerships
We have both formal and informal partnerships with other educational providers, with organisations who fund theological education and with educational organisations which are engaged in research, administrative or developmental work which can be related to the purposes and programmes of IBTS.
Key relationships
- Our degrees are validated by the Czech Ministry of Education (Accreditation Commission)
- or by the University of Wales, United Kingdom, validation unit.
- The Rector is a member of the Czech Conference of Rectors (CRC), which is a member body of the European Universities Association (EUA).
Theological Education Partnerships
IBTS is a member of the Consortium of European Baptist Theological Schools (CEBTS). This consists of 26 Seminaries, Colleges and Bible Schools within the area of the EBF.
This Consortium meets every 12-18 months to discuss matters of common concern, to advise and develop academic programmes, to arrange exchange of lecturing staff, to organize specific conferences on topics of interest to the members, to support one another and to develop efficient methods of student exchange.
Within the overall work of CEBTS, IBTS has specific partnerships with:
- Spurgeon’s College, London
- Tartu Baptist Theological Seminary
- The Arab Baptist Theological Seminary, Beirut, Lebanon
- The Lithuanian Baptist Non-Residential Bible School
Beyond the CEBTS grouping IBTS has partnerships with the Evangelical Theological Faculty and the Hussite Theological Faculty of the Charles University, Prague.
IBTS is developing a relationship with the John Leland Centre for Theological Education in North Virginia, USA.
IBTS is developing a partnership with the Christopher Newport University, Newport News, Virginia
IBTS is also a member of the Euro Asiatic accrediting association (EAAA)
