Rüschlikon Archive Information
The Rüschlikon Archive contains a well-nigh complete record of the Baptist Seminary in Switzerland from its foundation shortly after the Second World War to its removal to Prague, with complete records of all students, conferences and Boards, supported by an interesting collection of photographs.
Originally a project of the Southern Baptist Convention in the USA the Seminary became an increasingly important part of the programme of the European Baptist Federation as the developing Seminary and the growing Federation went hand-in-hand to create a faculty that represented European Baptist scholarship alongside visiting colleagues from the USA, to promote and support Baptist work and especially theological eduction and a trained lay leadership throughout east and west Europe, and to maintain significant contacts with Eastern Europe through the days of the Cold War.
The move to Prague coincided with the transfer of assets from the Southern Baptist Convention to the European Baptist Federation.
