Sicrie Project 2009 - 2011
Social Integration on the Cultural and Religious Interfaces in Europe (part funded by the European Union Grundtvig programme)
SICRIE brings together groups from Northern Ireland, Bulgaria, Lithuania and IBTS, Czech Republic in an informal adult education programme working with diverse social and cultural communities across Europe.
SICRIE is a series of national initiatives with regular four nation contacts to build a toolkit for the use of others in exploring concerns focused on vulnerable and marginal groups in society and how such groups can be brought into dialogue with wider society and with each other.
IBTS has a core group of eight people engaged in SICRIE and has a range of specific elements to bring to the project including –
- Relating to disadvantaged street children from dysfunctional families
- Relating to refugees from oppressive regimes given shelter here in the Czech Republic
- Exploring stories about how our communities read The Story.
- Reflecting on how such a diverse multi national, multi cultural, multi lingual group of people at IBTS become a community.
