Volunteering Category Three
A Category Three volunteer is someone who can meet a need which is helpful to the overall operation of the seminary. In addition to the tasks listed on this page, a volunteer (or group) may take the responsibility to create a project that is agreeable to IBTS. If IBTS feels that the newly proposed project is critical to the operations of the seminary, it may be moved to a higher category.
For a Category Three volunteer, IBTS will pay one-third of all living expenses needed for the project. IBTS will also provide one-half of all local transportation and office space related to the task. The volunteer would pay all the cost of materials needed for the project. The housing costs will be based on the prices listed publicly on the Hotel Jenerálka website.
This would not include travel to Prague, personal phone calls, evening meals nor weekend meals (other than breakfast).

Banner makers
We are looking for someone or a team to make banners to be hung in our chapel which will depict the seasons of the church. We have a good idea of what we need and the basic design that would fit our community so we ask that you submit your design before you begin the work.

Basketball hoop
We are looking for people to come and help install an outdoor basketball hoop and court.

External metal painting
We are looking for someone to come and paint all the metal work around campus which includes some fences and hand rails.

External painting teams
We are looking for teams of volunteers (preferably those able to climb ladders) to do external woodwork and facade work in the summer. We have projects waiting for several of our buildings. This painting requires a quality that requires experience. We hope to find people who are used to industrial painting and construction and who have their own qualified leader. Our preferred schedule is one or two weeks during the summer months.

External window painting
We are looking for volunteers willing to clean and repaint the wooden exterior windows on campus. There are many and it can be done over a length of time. We are interested in a team or an individual who would like to do this work. It can be done indoors or outdoors.

General cleaning and decorationing
We are looking for volunteers to help with the “deep cleaning” of the seminary. This will include things like window cleaning, polishing wooden furniture, getting rid of cobwebs in staircases etc. We are afraid it is not very exciting work, but vital to us. Our preferred schedule is one or two week in the summer months but exceptions can be made.

General gardening
We are looking for volunteers who can help us with cutting grass, weeding, routine improvement and general maintenance. Our preferred schedule is one or two weeks in the summer months.

Interior paint team
We are looking for people to come and paint the interior of several rooms including the guest lounge and a stair case in F Building. Both of these projects require a scaffold to be installed so we need healthy people who are comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding.

Librarians
We are looking for people to help with the library automation and general library work. One must be willing to work shifts, including some evening work and to tackle any form of library work as part of a team. Our preferred schedule is during the academic year which is from September to May. One month is our preferred minimum as it may take time to understand our system. We can make exceptions.

Nature path
We are looking for people to come a clear our nature path. This is a trail through our property which runs through the wooded area. It has become overgrown and some trees have fallen on the path. It will require the use of a chain saw.
