Senior Research Fellow

Dr Lydie Kucová

BA (Brunel), MTh (Edinburgh), PhD (Edinburgh)

Dr. Kucová began her academic journey at IBTS in Prague, subsequently completing her bachelor's degree in Theology in London. She continued her postgraduate education in Scotland, earning both her master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Edinburgh. Since 2007, Dr. Kucová has held various positions at IBTS, and from 2015 onwards, she has served alongside Jan Koukal as a pastor at Na Topolce Baptist Church in Prague. She has been a faculty member at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Prague since 2008, where she teaches courses in Old Testament studies and Biblical Hebrew.

Research Interests

Dr. Kucová's primary research interests encompass the literary and textual criticism of the Hebrew Bible, focusing on the books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles. Additionally, she has a keen interest in Baptist history and studies.
