Honorary Senior Research Fellow

Revd Dr Keith G Jones

BA (Theology, University of Manchester), MA (University of Bradford), PhD (IBTS/Wales), FRHistS, FCMI

Dr Jones grew up in Bradford, West Yorkshire. He trained for Baptist Ministry at the Northern Baptist College, Manchester in the 1970's and then was called to be minister of the Baptist Church Centre, Barnoldswick. In 1980 he was appointed General Secretary of the Yorkshire Baptist Association. He served there until 1990 when he was called to be Deputy General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.

In 1998 he was appointed Rector of the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague, Czech Republic, and served there until 2013 when he returned to his native Yorkshire. Since then he has held lecturing posts with Northern Baptist College, St Hild College in Sheffield , has chaired the Board of the Luther King Educational Partnership in Manchester and been President of the Baptist Historical Society. He is a member of Shipley Baptist church, West Yorkshire, where he serves as a Deacon.

Research Interests

Dr Jones' main areas of academic research are Baptist and Anabaptist life and thought as well as various streams of Christian worship and liturgy.
