IBTS

A Shared Table of Learning through Creative Conversations about Life, Mission and Ministry

The Learning Network is a major new initiative launched in 2021. It is a platform for theological education designed to meet the challenges of ministry and mission in the twenty-first century. This initiative relates to an element of the core purpose of the IBTS Centre, which is to help equip leaders for mission by delivering high-quality education. We also recognise the uncertainty felt in much of Europe about the sustainability (both financial sustainability and the ability to provide accreditation) of theological education in its current form. We hope that by introducing a new model into the Baptist world, we will go some way towards engaging with this concern and, while a Quality Assurance Scheme (QAS) will not replace academic accreditation by universities, it will lay the grounds for assuring the delivery of good quality education to a broad audience.

Courses on Missional Leadership

The series of courses on Missional Leadership take a practical theological approach where participants start with their own lived experiences and learn to explore them thoroughly from different perspectives. By reflecting on experience and Scripture, participants learn how to develop more effective practices which can be integrated into everyday work and life. Participants will learn how to train people in their community to be practical theologians on the ground, to discern together, to ‘live’ and embody what they have learnt.
