April 2021 Newsletter

Revd Dr Mike Pears, Director

Dear all

Greetings of the season to all of you!

CHRIST HAS DIED. CHRIST HAS RISEN. CHRIST WILL COME AGAIN.

This declaration is at the heart of all we do, in research, in ministry … and in the whole of life.

We pray that through this Easter season your life, and the lives of those around you, will be inspired and renewed by the vision and presence of the Risen Christ.

Peace and blessings
Mike

ETF Leuven

Our friends and colleagues at ETF Leuven have been in touch with us to draw our attention to a new research institute that they have launched. This will be of particular interest for those of you doing research in theological education and/or ministry with young people. I encourage you to take a look:

CEEAMS - Summer Doctoral Colloquium 2021

As you know, the ODC program seeks to facilitate a guided study period of 2-5 weeks in the summer months, from 26th June to 31st July 2021 to students that have started a PhD program with universities elsewhere in Europe. Also, those seriously exploring the possibility to enroll in a PhD program and are working on their proposal are welcome to apply.

The ODC Program seeks to take 5-15 PhD students out of their busy environments and bring them into a learning community. A mentor will be assigned to each student to provide encouragement and support to his/her project, in close cooperation with and under final responsibility of the official supervisor. The Osijek Doctoral Colloquium also includes seminars in research methodology.

COVID-19 situation permitting, this year we will offer the options of attending on-site in Osijek, at a satellite location, or entirely online.

The deadline for registration for the Summer Colloquium is April 5, 2021.
