Greetings from IBTS,
As we look back on 2025, we want to express our gratitude for the relationships that continue to shape the life of IBTS, our students, scholars, church leaders, and partners across Europe and the globe. Your commitment, collaboration, and shared love for theology that builds our meaningful Christian being in this world have made this past year deeply encouraging.
This year, we were pleased to welcome 6 new students into the Postgraduate Certificate in Theology and 5 into the Thesis Bridging Programme. Their studies began in January with an Induction Week for the PGCert cohort, followed immediately by our annual Research Colloquium in Amsterdam when the rest of our research community joined in. Throughout these weeks, participants exchanged their insights, engaged in discussions over their research questions, honed their academic work and strengthened connections within our wider academic community. It is always reassuring to start a new year with an intense experience of academic fellowship and Christian unity without denial of our differences.
Looking ahead to 2026, we are committed to deepening our cooperation with our long‑standing partners, including the European Baptist Federation (EBF) and the Baptist World Alliance (BWA), and establishing some new ones as we work together to serve the European Baptist Federation and the wider Baptist community by promoting academic excellence, providing theological resources, and sharing knowledge for the benefit of churches and ministries in their local context.
We have just launched a fresh series of Learning Network events for 2026 - webinars, workshops, and short courses crafted to widen participation and respond to the needs we continue to hear from the global Baptist community and our partners. With the introduction of IBTS Pathways, the Learning Network is more accessible than ever, opening new possibilities for formation, growth, and meaningful engagement.

Our 2026 Learning Network events are now live - and we’re delighted to introduce IBTS Pathways, a new initiative designed to make our courses and workshops more accessible than ever.
At IBTS, we believe theological learning is something the church shares together, shaped by calling, community, and a desire to grow in faithful discipleship. Across the Learning Network, we recognise that learners come from diverse ministry, economic, and cultural contexts, and that every learning journey is unique.
IBTS Pathways reflects our commitment to welcome, belonging, and mutual support, helping ensure that theological formation remains closely connected to vocation, community, and our shared witness.
We invite you to explore the upcoming Learning Network Events in 2026 and discover your pathway today.
