IBTS

Host a Pentecost Celebration Service

Date:

Will you join us on Pentecost Sunday to celebrate the 75th anniversary of IBTS?

Together with people from around the world we will give thanks to God for the amazing blessing and impact that has touch so many nations over 75 years.

We have created a range of interactive resources which you can access below for use in a Sunday service or other events to profile the mission and work of IBTS. These are from a variety of cultures and include resources for prayer, worship, a sermon and a video resource that will aid reflection on the work of the Spirit of God amongst the real challenges of today’s world.

IBTS FRIENDS

Pentecost Sunday will also introduce a new venture being launched on our 75th year - IBTS FRIENDS. This is a practical way of supporting the ongoing mission of IBTS and we would love for you and your church to be involved. Through this you can support IBTS and actively participate in this exciting community of learning. IBTS FRIENDS is for churches and individuals.

Pentecost Sunday Service Theme: Blessed are the Peace Makers

Where are the peacemakers? It seems that wherever we look there is conflict and disturbance. Whether on international news, down our street, or on our social media, we see aggression and violence. Even the natural environment seems to be marked by unrest. Our world is crying out for peacemakers!

IBTS is deeply rooted in the Baptist tradition of peace and reconciliation. Our education and research are not simply about peace, but our approaches to learning seek to embody the practices and habits that make for peace. Whatever subject you are studying at IBTS you learn together with people from around the world with different ways of seeing life. Learning with others can be a powerful experience which involves new ways of seeing ourselves and at the same time opens deeper understanding of God. To learn in this way is to be transformed.

During Pentecost we reflect on the incredible vision of people drawn by the Spirit of Christ from all cultures, ethnicities, and social situations into peaceful participation with him. We pray that on this Pentecost Sunday your community would more deeply discover the peaceful ways of God’s Spirit.

We would love to hear about who is using these resources and how useful you find them. Please drop us a note to let us know via Mike Pears on pears@ibts.eu. Thank you.
