Worldwide, of girls between the ages of 15 & 19 who are in a settled relationship, 1 in 3 have been victims of emotional, physical and/or sexual violence at the hands of their partner. We will consider the different ways in which Teen Dating Violence is perpetuated and the pressure and shame that it induces. A narrative that says, ‘this is normal’, ‘if you don’t do this, you don’t love me’, ‘if you don’t do this, I will let everyone know what you are’ is designed to intimidate and control.
