Moving from Content Delivery to Engaging, Lasting Learning

This 4-week online course is designed for trainers and educators from any field who want to apply a learning-centred approach in their teaching. The course provides practical tools to create learning experiences that are reflective, interactive, and adaptable to diverse contexts.

A learning-centred approach draws on adult learning principles and the practical theology cycle, creating safe spaces for dialogue, reflection, and practice. It is sensitive to cultural differences and integrates ongoing assessment throughout the learning process.

Course Details

The course is a 4-week blended online, facilitated course starting on the 3rd November, with a virtual meeting every week, requiring roughly 3 hours of work per week.

Online material is available in English and translatable into different languages.

We aim for a small group of 10–14 participants.

Primary language will be English.

The course is recognised by the IBTS Centre and EBF and is at pre-degree level.

Tuition fee: 110 euros, limited scholarships are available.

Sara Cavaco Soares

Sara and her family live on the outskirts of Lisbon, Portugal. They are a family of 8, with 6 kids ranging between 20 and 6 years old. Sara has a BA in teaching, and worked as a teacher until her family decided to homeschool their kids. Together with her family, she lived in the Czech Republic for 7 years, where they served as missionaries. After returning to Portugal (4 years ago), she started working as a doula and lactation consultant while still homeschooling. Her family is initiating a Simple Church in the area where they live.
