Despise not the counsel of the poor
The Thomas Helwys Institute at IBTS is holding a major conference celebrating the 400th anniversary of the publication of Helwy's Mystery of Iniquity (1612-2012)
Baptists from around the world have gathered to reflect together on Religious Freedom and Human Rights in a celebration of the 1612 publication of the letter of Thomas Helwys seeking religious liberty in England and Wales whicvh he sent to the King and which caused him to be imprisoned in the Tower of London.
Speakers include Dr Raimundo Barreto, BWA Director of Freedom and Justice; Professor Malcolm Evans from Bristol University , an expert on international law on human rights; the Revd A A Peck, EBF General Secretary; Elizabeth Kitanovic from the CEC/KEK; Christer Daelander EBF Religious Freedom Adviser; Dr J Andrew Kirk, IBTS Research Fellow; Dr Tim Noble, Co Director of the Thomas Helwys Institute; Dr P R Parushev, Pro Rector and Academic Dean at IBTS ; Albrechty Boerrigter, General Secretary of the Baptist Union of the Netherlands and several IBTS doctoral students and EBF staff.

IBTS hosts European Baptist Aid Conference 2012
IBTS is delighted to be hosting the European Baptist Aid conference for 2012.
The theme is on the "Church and Social Responsibility". The opening keynote address was by Professor Otniel Bunaciu, Vice President of the European Baptist Federation, President of the Baptist Union of Romania, member of the IBTS Board of Trustees and a Professor in the Baptist Faculty of Theology at the University of Bucharest.
Participants include many engaged in social work, aid and development work within the EBF family and representatives of European Baptist Aid organisations - BMS World Mission, Cooperative Baptist Fellowhip, american Baptist Churches International Ministries, Canadian Baptist Ministries and German Baptist Aid.
